Important Updates to Open Play, Coaching, and Policies at Side Out Tsunami

Hello Picklers!
We hope you’ve been enjoying your time on the courts! We’re sharing a few important updates to help make play fair, fun, and accessible for everyone in the Seattle pickleball community. Please take a moment to read through the details below.
Open Play Reservations
To help ensure fairness and increase access for all members, we’re introducing limits on the number of active open play reservations based on membership type:
- Solo: 2 active open play reservations
- Duo: 4 active open play reservations
- Clan: 8 active open play reservations
Once one of your open play sessions has been completed, you’ll be able to book another reservation. This rolling system should help more members get access to open play opportunities.
We’re also reviewing our open play schedule to help get more members off the waitlist. Once finalized, we’ll share details on the updated schedule here on the blog and in the Side Out Tsunami app.
Late Cancellations & No-Shows
Starting November 1st, late cancellations and no-shows will incur fees. A follow-up email will provide full details on these charges so everyone understands how the system will work.
Outside Paid Coaching
We love having passionate coaches in our community! However, please note that paid or professional instruction by non–Side Out Tsunami coaches is not allowed. Side Out Tsunami offers a full staff of certified teaching professionals available for private lessons and coaching.
Violations may result in suspension or revocation of memberships or guest access for all involved. If you’re interested in coaching at Side Out Tsunami, please reach out to Devin.
Dress Code
Our dress code is relaxed but designed for comfort and consideration of all players. Please remember:
- Court shoes are required
- Shirts must be worn at all times
- Sports bras must be covered

Courts 1–11: 2 on / 2 off
Courts 12–23: 4 on / 4 off
